Little Garden: Reviews & Ratings
No fuss restaurant offering a wide variety of Chinese dishes from various regions. The dishes are plentiful and a great deal considering the price. Our go to dishes include the mini fried dumplings, pea vine shoots, and beef chow fun, and braised pork shoulder. Don’t expect too much from the decor and service without a smile, typical of Chinese restaurants.
Excellent Cantonese food at affordable prices. The dining room is basic and there was only one wait staff on a Friday night. But the food is excellent, tasty and comes with generous serving sizes. Everything we ordered taste good, and we had plenty of leftovers. We ordered the pork and bamboo shoots, pea tips, and bean sauce fish. We enjoyed all 3 dishes. We will definitely return to work through their extensive menu
Large portion for the price. Good for groups. Some hits and misses on the dishes.
The service and the food was great. It was the first time we visited Little Garden. We arrived at 5pm when they opened, on a Monday. We had a party of 8 and were the first party there. I liked that they had two large round tables for larger parties. The food did take awhile to start coming out as other reviews mentioned, about 40 minutes. I also read that others didn't receive good service and the servers'attitudes were bad. We didn't experience that. They were very nice and helpful and filled our water glasses frequently. You can't beat the value of the food. We had eight dishes and the total was only $123. We will definitely be coming back
Price: 5 Taste: 5 Quality: 5 Quantity: 5 Service: 2 I really enjoyed this restaurant. I will say that it helps to understand what exactly you are getting yourself into before coming. For starters, our friends came in about 30 minutes before us (5:00 on a Saturday night) to get the table and we didn’t have any issues. They were telling us that they tried coming after 5:30 in the past and they were turned away with no hope of getting seated. If you plan to come, the food is what will set this place apart. The service is almost nonexistent, which is okay if you know going in, so temper your expectations on that front. The menu is quite a bit to digest, no pun intended. It’s extremely long with no pictures, so it helps to go with someone that knows these dishes, speaks the language, has been here before, or all of the above. Im afraid you won’t find the picture support or waiter recommendations here. We ordered 6-7 entres which was MORE than enough for our party of 6. We ordered, cauliflower veggies, chili oiled green beans, mapo tofu, pork and veggies, cumin beef, egg plant, and fish in chili oil. I think all of it was pretty good. The Szechuan flavor here (on the mapo tofu) leans slightly higher than what you’d find to be the average level of intensity at other restaurants, so if you like that, definitely give that one a go. All the meals come with hot tea beforehand, but the waters, we had to ask for. So, make sure you ask for water before all the spicy food comes out. It could save you lol. All things considered, this restaurant is an awesome spot to bring friends, break bread, and not feel like you’re unwelcome. I’d recommend this spot and I’d be open to coming back, but if I’m in the area, I might be tempted to explore other restaurants given the density of awesome cuisine in the area.
Large portion of braised chicken with potatoes, only $20 after tax! The taste is good, like authentic Northern Chinese home cooked comforting food. During meal times, the wait can be quite long. I recommend ordering 1-2 hours in advance by phone and pickup. Better avoid dining in, it takes at least 30 minutes to get the food
The portion was GIANT here with reasonable price. Holy cow, can’t believe that it was my first time dinning here two weeks ago, food was great but we had to wait for 45 mins (there might be a big take out order coming in right before we headed in) Highly recommended to do take-out or come in early to secure a spot. Best spot for post hiking or post skiing Chinese food (yes. When you are hungry, you are ready for Little Garden)
I wanted to give one star so people won’t come to my favorite place. This is one of the best kept secrets. Amazing food at a price that we used to pay 10 years ago. I totally get what people complain about the service but it is all about the expectation. If you ask the server what the wait is they will tell you. Your order will take an hour because we have tons of to go orders for example. If you are in a rush, go to other places. I find this place to be super friendly. Oh don’t forget to buy the frozen dumplings. Can you believe it is only 10$ for 2 lbs???? I love this place and always tip very generously as their dishes are very reasonably priced.
